The idea of "food as medicine" is capturing the attention of the healthcare community like never before. Backed by a no-cost program from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), this initiative encourages healthcare workers to tap into the healing power of nutrition. This was a major topic at the recent White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health, where strategies were discussed to help clinicians make nutrition a central part of patient care. Through September 2025, up to 200,000 clinicians across the country can take part in NO-COST training that focuses on lifestyle medicine and the role of food in health.
Just sign up before 9/14/2025 at ACLM FAM website with a free account and Food as medicine course is free with code WHC22!
ACLM Commitment
ACLM's commitment is crucial for integrating nutrition into everyday medical practice. By offering free comprehensive training, ACLM ensures that healthcare clinicians develop the skills necessary to suggest effective dietary changes.
This initiative could not come at a better time, as the rates of chronic illnesses continue to soar. The CDC reports that over 70 percent of American adults are overweight, and nearly 50 percent have at least one chronic condition. By educating healthcare clinicians on the benefits of nutrition, we can work toward a healthier population.
Food as medicine in practice can:
empower patients to restore their own health
help clinicians regain passion for their career and the field of medicine
treat & reverse the chronic cycle of lifestyle-related illnesses
