Marking the milestones: This week starts with Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day and today the world's eyes will be on the nation's capital on Inauguration Day 2021, on this day 1.20.2021 a palindrome. (for US)
The first national MLK day was observed in 1986 when I was still in school and part of the school choir invited to perform at the city's celebration.
Locally in Hawaii, I am grateful to honor MLK day by volunteering at the community COVID-19 vaccination sites opened first to our kupuna 75 and older with their caretaker who have been scheduled.

The theme of this year's Inauguration Day is "America United," that has taken on added weight in the wake of the events at the U.S. Capitol earlier this month. The Presidential Inaugural Committee said that the theme "reflects the beginning of a new national journey that restores the soul of America, brings the country together, and creates a path to a brighter future."
May you be blessed by all the love, care, and healing God has for you today.
