Prayer is one thing that cannot be shut down. Prayer cannot be quarantined and cannot be confined. Borders may close. Our Abba Father will always welcome and greet us with open arms.
People may panic and medical options may fail us. But our God will never leave or forsake us. Prayer is without a doubt one of the most powerful tools we have during this pandemic. Prayer is the antidote to fear as God is calling His children to stand in courage.
As believers in Christ, we have the opportunity to engage in the spiritual battles going on around us with wisdom and grace, standing in a place of victory in Christ. Most of us go from moment to moment with hardly any time for a sit down meal. The isolation required by the pandemic allows some of us to take a moment to pause... let’s take advantage of it.
It might seem like everything has come to a halt that we are unable to move or do anything meaningful. However, our greatest work is still in our hands every day—the work of prayer. There is nothing more powerful than when two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus, seeking God’s heart and standing in the gap. As author S. D. Gordon advised, “You can do more than pray after you have prayed. But you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed.”
